New 10/11 Greece Soccer Jersey

 

The Hellenic Football Federation has revealed a brand new jersey for the 10/11 seasons, and the upcoming 2010 World Cup. The home jersey retains the the solid white look along with blue accents along with the Greek team crest, while the Greek home jersey remains a solid blue. The jerseys are produced by Adidas, which has a contract with the team until 2012.

The official color of the Greece soccer jersey has long been blue, and was only changed to white after winning the Euro 2004. The switch effectively reversed the colors of the home and the away jersey.

 

Greece qualifies for second ever World Cup!

 

Greece striker Dimitrios Salpingidis scored the first and only goal of the two-leg playoff match against Ukraine, solidifying their berth in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Their only other World Cup appearance was in in 1994 in the United States, however their biggest international success was in 2004 when they became champions of Europe, after beating out Portugal in the final.

The action kicks off at 1:30 on July 12th in Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, Port Elizabeth against Korea Republic. The next group match is on the 17th against Nigeria, followed by a clash against Argentina on the 22nd.
